Read the diagram explanation and sources
The dopamine receptor nomenclature divides receptors into D1-like and D2-like families with different canonical G-protein coupling. Noradrenaline receptor families also differ. Coupling affects intracellular signals such as cAMP but does not uniquely determine firing, circuit activity or behaviour. Location, concentration, timing, cell type and other signalling pathways change the outcome. The diagram provides a simplified receptor reference, not an individual drug-response prediction.
